Engage Independent Physicians, Dr. Wax asks AOA

Dr. Craig Wax writes AOA Pres. Bob Juhasz, DO

Bob

Thank you for having me at the AOA advocacy meeting in Phoenix AZ. The lectures and workshops were informative and interactive. More importantly, thank you for your personal meeting with me on adaptive leadership and listening to the information to improve the AOA that I bring from independent physicians and all their contacts:

1. AOA needs to listen to all DOs in all practice specialties and practice styles from solo to health system leader. All have both core values and needs, but each has unique issues that the AOA needs to know, value and act on.

2. AOA must allow and support discussion and publication of all physician opinions, concerns and ideas in all AOA levels and publication. We agree that thorough, professional respectful debate and discussion of all data and opinions, culminating in consensus and action, must be the mode of AOA operation at all levels and all times.

3. The AOA must find acceptable means to communicate their information and actions to the DO membership. This is so that every DO feels engaged and better understands all the AOA is, does and is capable of.

Given this understanding and terms, I will share my media, contacts and best efforts toward our mutual cause.

Thanks again for taking the time to understand, share and working to bring all DOs issues to light for the betterment of all.

Best wishes for good health,
Craig M. Wax, DO
